Well, as the title says I just picked up a 95 FX-1 here in Rochester. I'd been searching for a decent superjet for the last few months, then this popped up for sale. It was owned by an older gentleman who said it bothered his back to ride it anymore, he refused to buy a couch so he is retiring altogether from riding I guess. Got it for 1600.

I'm in the process of laying new tray turf. I want to learn as much as I can about the ski, I plan to ride it stock this summer then start messing with it more next winter. I noticed a lot of the molded purple plastic has faded to almost a grey color. I'm planning to gently wet sand it a bit to get the color back, opinions?

Congrats and nice score on that pipe, I hunted half the winter for an fx chamber. Very fun hull if you haven't ridden one before.

Nice ski! my fx was 1500 all stock.
It was in great condition though (although the crank seized a year later...)

Always nice to see another fx1 out there. I was looking for an SJ too when i saw this fx1 pop up. Im very glad i got it instead

take a heat gun to the plastics covering the pole bracket, did it on mine and it seriously looks brand new! a guy on pwc told me to do it and tried it and worked good.

Endless tinkering

Welp, I've been prepping for turf, restoring some plastic here and there...I went to put my pole back in the pivot yesterday and was tightening the bolt and I heard POP there is a huge crack in the bracket...fml. Took the pole off, fished the tank out and had some time to really clean up the inside of the hull while I wait on a new bracket.

Great deal on the FX-1

You can have the bracket welded. Mine broke too and had it welded now its stronger than before. If you already have a new one save the old one for a spare.
