96 Waveblaster II - Riding Issues

Hello All,

I have a 96 Yamaha Waveblaster II in mint condition that I love riding. Only complaint is it is difficult to balance while sitting or riding a slower speeds and then of course can be hard to get back up on:eek::eek:. My question is if I change the ride plate will it make it more stable as noted above? If so, what ride plate would you recommend? To make it easier getting on the ski, should I just add a ladder off the back?

Appreciate any feedback and recommendations!!!!:):)

WB2’s are pretty stable and shouldn’t be an issue at low speeds or even stopped unless you’re a bigger rider. You sure you don’t have a WB1 as they are exactly what you describe in ride difficulty.

in the water, reach up and grab the bars and crank the B2. Give it some gas and put your right or left foot in the side gunnals. when the ski has done almost a 180 give it more gas and crank the bars the opposite direction. Ski will swing up underyou and you will be standing up. Ride off.

Or just ride it more. I am 6’3” and 200lbs and ride a B2 with my 8 year old son with no issues. Didn’t feel any more tippy than my 1996 XP. I think you just need to ride it more and get used to it. Typically if a ski handles good and quick the stability suffers. Just the nature of the beast.

Hi,

I have a wb2 and it can be a little tippy when stopped in some chop.... more stable then sitting on a stationary superjet though
