I'm in the process of puting together my new fs-2. I'm building it for riding westcoast surf and I've done a lot of research on fuel/exhaust tuning but thought I'd post this and get some other opinions. I'm interested in cooling set up as well as carb jetting / tuning.
I just want to know what has worked well for others. I have already seen the threads on carb tuning and on cooling.
Here's what I have. I'll be as thorough as I can to cover fuel and exhaust systems.
62t bottom end with a stock yamaha crank
61x top end bored once with Wiseco pistons. (not sure of exact bore size)
MSD Enhancer
MSD coil
Factory B Pipe (Standard chamber) Manifold drilled for dual cooling
Stock head now but will be changing to DASA girdled soon.
Stock flame arrestors
Taper bored 38mm Mikuni carbs (stock except taper bore and choke plates removed)
Jetworks blue flow control valve
Solas mag pump
stock waterbox
stock intake manifold and reeds
reed spacer
I have installed an 80 gram spring and a 135 main jet for now. The motor is not installed yet so I haven't tested anything. Just looking for good starting points. Hoping to use suggestions to aid me in the learning process. I've always avoided doing my own tuning but this time i want to do it myself to learn the process.
Any suggested jetting from similar set ups that have worked well would be great.
Cooling routing suggestions would be great also. I plan on running hot hands.
