A little info please.....

Hi, newbie here so be kind :)

I bought a couple of sn 650s for £200 $320ish your money, one is complete the other is stripped down but all the parts are there.
I was looking on line and came across this site, the idea was to build the other one up and sell one and keep one but then I came across the build section of this site and the modding gene in me was like ok time to rocker and shorten ha.

My questions are 1. why do you cut out the tray and refoam? Is it a weight thing?
2. The tube on the left side of the ski that goes through the tray what is this for?

Thanks in advance

Yamaha's are notorious for allowing water to leak into the foam under the tray. Weight is the enemy. Water weighs a lot.

The tube on the left side is usually a scupper or a one way valve, which allows riders to quickly drain the water from the bilge area.

I tried to find a good video or gif of a scupper but couldn't.

Welcome to the X!
