yeah definitely superjet if you just want to learn. get it reinforced from the get go, or you will end up with repairs + reinforcement at a not so later date.

I will be selling my 2010 SJ heavily reinforced (glass+carbon) hull soon. That is probably the best and strongest surf oriented hull there is :)
If you are just getting into standups, I would recommend SJ hull as well. Not too much fun in the flatwater, but in the choppy surf we get here in SE Fl it is very forgiving and learn friendly. You will learn to do everything with it except back flips :)

Personally, though it may not be the best thing to do financially, i'd start with a superjet. Learn how to do barrels rolls and such and beat it up. Once you get your grove and get things dialed in, buy an aftermarket. Once you switch to an aftermarket you will be able to do those same tricks, but better and with less effort.

Thats an opinion, but at the same time it wouldn't kill you if you just bought an aftermarket. It really all depends on how much money your wanting to throw around. While your "learning" which takes quite a while, theres nothing you will be able to do on the aftermarket hull that you won't be able to do on a superjet.

I'd spend a season on superjet, learn the fundamentals of riding then maybe next year if you feel like you want to get more involved and progress more jump into an aftermarket.

Definitely a Superjet. There's really not much you can't do with a SJ in the surf. Get some ride time and get good at it. Learn what characteristics you want in a surf hull or find out what the SJ lacks for your riding style and make an informed decision on an A/M hull. Ride as many hulls as you can. Once you make up your mind, drop all the SJ running gear in the new hull and rip!

superjets are great, you will destroy it learning stuff but its ok its just a superjet. then buy your hull, it will help advance your riding and make it alot funner overall, especially in average florida surf.

Yeah you'd defininitly need a 1200cc lightweight hull to flip off of that wave LOL! Seriously though if that was Floridas average I'd be moving there next week! Nice pic!
