Accusteer - contact info?

There is an 805 number listed from a thread back in 2020 with Roy Schrader's info for accusteer. That number is no longer accurate.

Does anyone know how to get a hold of him or if he's still running steering kits? I'd prefer to run Accusteer over UMI, and UMI over Wax stuff.

Gee thats harsh Stuart. Sorry you feel that way about our stuff so badly. But keep an eye out on yahoo auctions they pop up from time to time https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/catego...084049787&exflg=1&b=1&n=20&s1=new&o1=d&mode=2

Roy made some top notch stuff for sure , one thing I didn't like on the Accusteer or UMI setups was that they didn't use stainless bearings , Wax seems to have that under control and I applaud him for making products that other companies either didn't think are profitable enough to merit their consideration, I beileve that UMI is making steering stems again and Roy had to be convinced by friends to make the last ones that he made..

RIP Roy .

Accusteers look nice but they are very soft. I had trouble keeping the head shimmed tight on the shaft, it was too short for the bending load. Stainless bearings always installed after the first season.

Maybe I got lucky but I never had an issue with mine. UMI got sloppy after a season and the threads stripped out on me a couple times. I don't know anyone personally who has a wax setup that I can see and feel for myself. I have a friend with an AJP /stock setup and it's probably the stiffest of the bunch that I have experience with, it's just a bit short for me. I'd rather run tall steering than high bars or risers.

I ran my UMI for less than a season and sold it for more than I paid for it , it never saw saltwater use so really I can't say how long the bearings would last in it , after that I ran stock setups modded for bearings , grease fittings and a top I had made similar to an AJP setup., pumped full of grease I never had issues with slop on that setup either.
