SXR Advent

Sup guys! During my winter modification spree on my 06 sxr i came across an advent t3 ignition from a member on here for a great price and i bought it due to the fact that i plan on running a wet pipe this season. It is my understanding that running the timing jumper that fpp gives you does wonders for bottom end but can cause detonation at high rpms, anybody have any good exerience with advent??? Apparetly it advances the timing for bottom end and retards it back up top to prevent detonation....

i added a advent to my sxr that i bought used
the former owner added a pick up advance i didnt know so i had double adv
it ate a piston almost instantly
took out the adv plate works perfectly
you also need to know what curves are in the advent
might be race gas curves
advent can change curves for your set up for a fee

It depends on the timing curves that are installed in the Advent. The curve set is on the side sticker usually preceded by a "D". Not common to use the jumper with the modified timing curves

Are the advents reliable compared to oem? Do they really protect against deto? I will arrange to have the correct curves programmed once i finalize my modification list, has anyone done damage using just the wetpipe and jumper on stock ignition?

reliable assuming you don't do anything stupid.will allow for safer running on top end since timing is pulled back.
oem cdi with jumper is safe with pipe

wiring backward, starting with plug leads disconnected etc...
flywheel will be fine with advent assuming the timing bumps haven't been milled.
