ALPHA BETA CHARLIE DELTA

Built these cart/carriers.

The first was Alpha, built in 1995, for my FX1.

It used a steel hitch piece for about 5yrs, till it started to sag (salt water).

So I upgraded to stainless about 18 yrs ago, no problems since.

Alpha works like this:

Single pin retains it to the hitch piece.

About 23 yrs, doesn't owe me a dime. Used it with both FX & SJ. Going to am hull figured time for an upgrade.
Welcome Beta & Charlie. They were built this configuration.

Being bolt together has advantages , compact storage.

Based Beta & Charlie on modular construction, repeating pieces.

The main spar is heavy wall stainless, the cart interface is thin wall. I didn't want to drill into the heavy wall by the hitch so I re-purposed my cart leg sockets for a box clamp. The bolt on top only goes thru the thin wall.

I found this awesome capstan/winch that uses standard boat lines. You can bite the line anywhere you need to. I got a short one for pulling onto the cart if I need to, and a long one for pulling to the truck. I can drop the rear leg for surf/dead ski recovery.
