Aluminum Coupler Cover

The Good Old Days
A friend of mine was bored the other day.
Saw some thin aluminum in his garage and got an idea.

Time to make some bling on the cheep and maybe save an ounce or two.

What do you guys think ??

The RIVA sticker was added to give it that "custom" touch.

He's having issues getting onto this site as he forgot his password and is to stubborn to set up a new account and not computer savvy enough to contact an admin.

Forgot to mention that he made one side of the cover longer to eliminate any splashing that the stock cover lets through.

I'm sure he could be talked into making a few more of these. :cool2:

OK, it is nice.
I'm going to spray mine with some clear to keep the salt at bay.
I just hope this thing doesn't get mashed up next time my motor decides to move some.
Or, I could stop hitting sand bars.

Looks good. I would think a heavier gage material would be better though, simply to be less prone to dents and bending. I like it though.

I have not seen it firsthand, but I have heard that the Blowsion aluminum coupler has caused some of the coupler mounts from the bedplate to break. Hopefully this won't be a problem with this one because it is a lighter weight aluminum.

Not bashing Blowsion in any way---just passing on some info that might help you figure out a way to prevent that from happening. I recently placed an order with Blowsion and would have considered one of their covers had I not heard about some problems. I'm going to run a carbon fiber one from WCF instead.

The 2 bolts do have rubber isolators/washers on both sides of the aluminum.
This thing is made of some thin aluminum so I doubt it could ever crack a bed plate but I bet that without the rubber isolators the cover would be the one that cracks.

As for price ?????

He was bored and had one of those moments.
I know he still has a bunch of that aluminum in his garage and could make more.
If anyone is interested I could get you his phone number, maybe something can be worked out.

Just ride
use pieces of rubber between the cover and mounting tabs if not the cover will break been there before

definetly, i made one for daytona out of diamond plate, because i broke my plastic one, and it broke at the tabs after the second day because i didn't use the rubber underneath the moutning bolts.
