Aluminum Impeller seal?

One of the upgrades I am doing on my blaster this off season is installing a little lower pitched impeller. The Solas impeller I have came with an aluminum seal and a rubber seal. I used the aluminum seal, because I liked the way it looks (not that anybody else will see it.), but recently I was on that other forum, and read some posts from couch riders saying their aluminum seals came loose and slid up the driveshaft.

I was just wondering if any of the blaster riders here had the same experience? I have not put the pump back together and installed it yet, so I could take the aluminum seal off and put the rubber one on. Just wanted to get some feedback.

Thanks,
Al

I know a dude with a triple sxr, lost 2mph top speed without one. Personally I wouldn’t notice regarding difference (or care too much) but he’s pretty particular with this stuff

Besides the set screw on it, glue it in with some silicone. They are known to come loose and slide up the driveshaft
