I tried changing the email address on my account to the email on my android phone. I got completely locked out of the board. Couldn't post, send PMs nothing.

The board didn't send an email to reactivate my account once I changed it. What's the deal with that anyway? So will the board not let you change your email to a gmail address? That's the only address I have on my phone so will be SOL i guess if I can't use it.

Are gmail addresses completely blocked or something? I know most boards won't let you register with a free email because of spammers. But every other board I've seen will let you change to a gmail or whatever after you've used a normal address to sign up and confirm. Never seen having to confirm again to change it.

I'm not the only one. A friend has the same problem with the gmail on his phone.

Gmail addresses work just fine. I'm using one.

x2 i also had this problem. i did use aol but only for emails. spam got so bad that i decided to change to gmail. when i went to change it on here i didnt get a conformation email either. i tried several times and got blocked out of my account. i ended keeping my aol email for this one site...:dunno:

can the admins manually activate the emails if we ask them nicely enough?
It makes you type it twice so I know it's right.
Just let me know first though so I can change mine back to the gmail addy.

I just changed mine about a month ago from my old verizon account to my new Gmail account without a hitch. Might be a bug or something but it did work fine.

What android phone did you get?

I'd say it sent the reactivation e-mail but it went into your spam folder?

I have a Motorola Cliq. I like it a lot.
You know.. it DID end up in my spam folder. I don't get it though.. It's the ONLY email I've ever gotten on my gmail that's ended up in there. Just now is the first time I've ever even expanded and opened the spam folder. I wasn't even sure there was one on the gmail account since everything always came to my inbox.
