Any good repair for the factory defect?

My 98 has the classic concave upper hull above the bond line, just forward of the rear corner. Is there any way to get it back to proper shape without building up the outer hull? I was told this was a factory defect that a lot of ski's had. Perhaps something to do with improper foaming and/or the exhaust tube.

cut it out.... get a flat already hardened sheet of CF or FG, then CF or FG it in....

When I was putting my foot wells in two years ago I asked the same thing. It was suggested that since i already had the sides cut out for the foot wells you push it out from the inside and glass it over, also a great time to reinforce this inside.
I thought about doing it but ended up not trying.

My last 2 Superjets had this same problem. From the factory, the foam filler holes are only covered by stickers. This, mixed with the other areas that aren't sealed up properly mean that water WILL get in there eventually. When you leave your ski in the sun, the water/foam heats up, evaporates and cools down, sucking the sides in. It's kind of like leaving your fuel can in the sun and letting it cool down.

Anyway, if you refoam, make sure all the inside is nice and dry and foam free, and leave it for a couple of days (preferably in the sun). The sides will eventually get thier correct shape back (maybe not dead straight though), even more so when you pour your expanding foam.

It's worked for the last 2 that had extremely sunken sides anyway!

when I reafoamed my SJ a year or two ago, when I dug all the foam our and re foamed, it came out on its own, the foam forced it back out.

I'll try and push it out when I get the foam out, the other side is fine. Its actually sucked in on both sides on the right, but holds are going in there so the inside won't really matter.

if its soft I'd think the re-foam might push it out (i.e. too far)
