I'm in the process of organizing and storing all my families video's. I've made it up to late 2012 and 2013 (from 1999!!!). The latest stuff is on miniDVD discs and have a few that have corrupted files or are giving me a format error. I have two retrieval programs on my PC that do a decent job, but these last few discs are driving me crazy. I simply need them converted from .VOB files to .mpeg2 or .mpeg4 on a conventional DVD and for catalog onto a backup hard drive. Some of this is rudimentary work, but I'm a complete computer novice/hack. There's two places here in Macon that say they "might" be able to do it, but no promise that they can retrieve it. There used to be a single man operation, here, that did forensic retrieval for the PD but he's gone or out of business.
Any advice?
