i was toying with putting this in a friends ski but cant find any info on it, just wondering if anyone can point me in the right dirrection

to be honest i dont really know:shrug: ive seen old pjs systems refered to as "brainless" systems but i dont see how it would work without a brain box

i got this from a friend who got a "box o parts" kinda deal and im just trying to help out another buddy get some jam out of a old 650sx

Search "brainless total loss" I think there is a long (very long) thread on the subject that may give you some help. A few diagrams, and a lot of bickering, too.

Take another picture of the pickup a bit closer and don't lay stuff on it...
Yes the KV system is a brainless cdi, which was in later years the Dyna system for the powersports industries and both used msd style magnet flywheels.

Ok, lets do this again.
Yes this is a KV system. Uses a 2 magnet flywheel just like the single channel MSD.
Uses a 3 ohm double tower coil and has 3 wires coming from the pickup. Red wire for a battery (+) switched to turn on ignition, one black to connect to (-) side of coil and a colored wire (forgot, blue or gray?) this wire connects to the (+) side of the coil.
As long as the engine has a ground to the engine, no extra ground needed. The pickup grounds itself when mounted.
This ignition is just a straight up timing no curve, set static at the plate and that's what you got.
Blew up many waterboxes and exhaust hoses with this ignition as it will pop a spark when turned on anytime the flywheel magnet is anywhere close to the pickup!
