Look for earlier 90s videos, when Freestyle was less hardware and more choreography

Carving a surf turn is definitley a cool, doable trick (see vid at 20 seconds)
Lots of other cool stuff to check out.

Bull dog flat spin 180s, 360s, BD power spins, riding on the hood doing 180s and 360s, riding on the hood and using your feet to gas and steer, monkey jumps, backwards barefoot austrailian, old school barrle rolls, there are so many tricks that people have forgotten about

^^^ This...

Also... do any tricks that apply one handed.
I saw my buddy who is pretty good at stabs etc try to jump a normal wake and then land holding one hand in the air and ate it. I'm assuming its not easy...

True that, no handed landers are fun but kill the ankles trying to balance. There are so many more tricks, riding on the hood into a flatspin 180 then spin your body so you ride out backwards on the hood. Sub and come up no hands. It is also possible to roll a stock ski with a b-pipe and a good prop. I was close to flatwater rolling a stock ski with just lifter wedges. You can also do big throws, big throw with a body Spin 360. Don't think you need a lightweight hull and big engine to do a bunch of tricks

all on a stock ski with lifter wedges, straps on the hood for hand holds, odi grips an a d-cut ride plate. The second vid has the closest roll attempts

Tricks are cool and all, but you still look like you suck if you fall off all the time. I practice my tricks and all, but I probably practice control a LOT more. I can now spin the thing all over the place (left and right), stand on it indefinitely while it's not running, ride it out of plane with no hands and balance it, do long hockey stops, etc. I think it looks cooler, and certainly shows skill more to be able to throw the ski around a lot and show you have total control of it (what separates us from couches). Then, like everyone above said, trick wise there's still a ton of stuff (or just make something up, it doesn't need a name to look cool and be impressive!)

Rick was a superstar back then.....

That's is exactly the kind of routine I like to see! Can we get another back flip?
