Hey all I have a Sea Doo 787 headpipe that has the typical corroded and leaking welsh plug. Does anybody know of somebody local that will weld it up?

I had some welding done at an aluminum fab shop that specializes in T-tops and such for boats. They've since moved to Alvin, but should not be hard to find someone closer to you that does the same.

problem that you may find is that you are trying to weld cast aluminum and that most of those guys won't want to touch it.

i dont know if it needs to be tig welded but maybe one of your buddys has a aluminum spool gun. i did this IMG_1923.jpgwith a $100 spool gun and miller mig but penguin is right, some cast doesnt work, i dont know why. something to do with the imperfections in the casting

If you want it done perfectly the only place to go is :
LoneStar Metal Werx. Phone:(713) 465-6552

Randy is used extensively by the motocross community for aluminum welding.

Actually you were brought up, but somewhat quick turnaround was needed and we were trying to be sensitive to your work schedule.....to give you more time to knock out a tote/beach cart for a Sport boat

True dat, I may take a while depending on what machine is being used at work. Right now would of been a good time.

And I have been kickin some though around about ordering material. I need a tote also.

The quick turn around stuff I send to Benny in Kemah.
