Anybody running an Ocean Pro steering nozzle?

I have the protec extended oval steering nozzle with the divider in it. When I ran the blaster a couple weeks ago for the first time with it, I destroyed the steering cable. The cable was pretty old and decrepid, so I chaulked it up to a bad cable. A couple days ago, with a brand new OEM cable, I bent the rod on the cable right near the nozzle.:banghead:

I should add that I also just installed the UMI steering and I had it on the quick turn ratio. I'm wondering if the quick steer in combo with the extendend nozzle was too much for the cable.

Has anybody else ran into this?

Pretty sure you meant an Ocean Pro nozzle, don't remember the Protec having the splitter. Anyway, I've bent several OE cables with my OP nozzle. You can use 1/4" copper pipe and some small pieces of hose to hold it to strengthen the cable housing at the nozzle. This works very well. Or you can use a B2 steering cable instead. Much beefier and I have yet to bend one. You will need to modify/fab a bracket to hold the beefier cable at the steering.

Whoops, yea OP nozzle, duh. Thanks for the advice on that. When you say modify/fab a bracket, do you mean the bulk head fitting that comes out the hole in the pump area? I'm not quite understanding. I don't suppose you have a picture of your setup?

OK, Im with you now. I thought you meant down at the nozzle. Looks easy enough. I'll start looking for a B2 cable. Thanks for the help.
