anyone use/heard of the Crazy 9 Protec cylinders

I am lookin at a crazy 9 ported pro tec cylinder and wondering if anyone knows anything about them, are they good for low end or just mid and top ( I got a stock setup right now and mostly want bottom end) If I bought it I would wait till I find a b pipe then do the switch, any help would be appreciated.

It would be going on my 93 superjet with a 61x platform single carb, looking at a riva head that supposedly bumps compression to 180

They're race cylinders.
Mostly mid-to-top.

Do a search for Pro-Tec cylinders.
I'm pretty sure this just very recently came up (within the last two weeks)

I had one of these cylinders, and Matt is right, they were set up for racing with mostly mid/top end. If you want more bottom end, look into getting your cylinder ported.

Think I will pass on them then and find a scrap set of cylinders and send them off to be ported, is there anywhere that doesnt get you for 400-500 to port them? The set I was lookin at was 150 and needed a new sleeve

I dont even know if you can still get sleeves for that one or not. Those cylinders havent been made for a while now.
As far as porting goes, give Randy at watcon.com a call.

Call Radney and get a quote if your doing a stock 61X cylinder.
Better yet choose a engine package that fits your budget.

I am thinking(not thinking am working on it, will have one by the end of the summer) of having a second top end made that will be ported, with a matched set of pistons so I can do a switch at the end of the summer, a couple of guys have said scream so I guess I need to look them up, ported cylinders with a 180 compression head and a new b pipe since you only save 60-80 bucks buying a used and abused one anyway, should give me the kick I want, Thanks for the direction:brap:
