thanks, not to sure what i want to do i do alot of free riding but its with my buddys and shredding the bouys, but i eventually want to race it im still stuck on my 550's so all of this is new for me.
1. what will the timing advance benifit?
2. i have been looking at the rrp handle pole set up just because they r cool as hell and the kaw stock poles r so notorious for breaking, but you say 0 degree why the 0 over 4?
3. the exhaust sleeve is only nessary if you r going to run the stock pipe right? i want the factory b, with tdr water box?
4. re jet the carbs? and remove the choke? but yes need to get the flame arrestors for sure
5. i have read alot of people saying to contact dave at impros for the prop but why the solas over stak trac i always prefered them on my 550's?
thanks man and everyone who gives info very much appreated guys! im sure im forgetting alot of things about the ski to talk about
Everything I listed is all Stock Class Legal Mods. This basically how I use to have my SXR set up for racing.
1. Basically, It lets the motor come on a little faster, better chance of getting more burn, More Bottom end power. (Someone here can describe it better).
2. This is a part you do not need. It is heavier than stock, My pole never broke. I raced it hard from 2004-2008 when I retired from Racing. I still rode it hard until I sold it in 2010. I just like the 0-degree bars, my arms got tired running the 4-degree. I felt I had more leverage with the 0's. Same with Freestyle setups. Most unless they are running riser bars have 0-degree setups as well.
3. Correct, if you are running stock class, you run it. If you put a pipe on it, cannot run it. But of Racing, I would start in stock for a season or two then add on the parts to make a limited.
4. You can rejet the carbs and remove chokes without swapping to AM Flame Arrestors, I know plenty that ran this way, My ski liked the flame arrestors.
5. Prop. The Dynafly is a great Prop. Dave has done a lot of tuning and found this Prop worked better than the Skat Swirls for the Kawi. Early on there were alot of guys doing alot of testing with the SXR in stock class setups. Most found this prop to be the one. On a 550, I preferred the Skat 15.5 straight. on my SJ, I hate Solas. Give me a Skat Freeride or the IMPROS Hooker Prop.
