Atomic blue touch up paint

Does anyone on here know of a common automotive paint color that matches the yamaha atomic blue on an '08 superjet? Up here in Canada yamaha does not carry touch up paint. But automotive touch up paint is a lot more accessible.

I searched for a long time to match the "Yamaha Blue". Turns out the color has changed many times over the years. I had dupont match Honda's "Electron Blue Pearl". Was a nice match and great color.

Such a simple procedure has turned into a nightmare. Just getting touch up paint should b an effortless task. Feel the pain in trying to get a match, is the honda electron blue very close then?. Surely it wouldn't be a pearl paint...?

I bought mine at Color Rite, they have for the 2008 model (I bought for my 2010 Sj and 1996 Blaster and they are very good matches)

Hi Trotty,

I will be in London for a couple of days in July so i could buy the paint and drop it in the local mail (i don't think it should be a problem to mail it domestically).

Let me know , in the worst case we cant make it happen i will be able to use it for my 2010 that uses the same color.

Regards

Fernando

Hey Fernando, that would be doing me a huge favour if that would be possible. I don't mind paying a bit extra for it, I could even meet you as London's an hour away from me. let me know nearer the time and I will gratefully forward funds.

Thankyou,

Ben

Hi Ben, don't worry about the payment, if you can meet me in London you can just pay me when we see there. I will place the order this week ; would you need the primer as well? (Its Urethane paint primer, i guess you might get it locally.

Do you think that a touch up jar (the one that comes with the brush would be enough?)
I usually thin it before applying because its quite thick so it last for many touch ups.
Or may be two of these jars(1/2 pint might be too big to pack).

You can send me an email at xixp@outlook.com and to coordinate the meet up. (I will be around July 13th for a couple of days so i could even drop the paint off at my hotel lobby)

Regards
Fernando
