B Pipe exhaust manifold leaking

I just recently bought a bpipe and installed a new gasket (ebay link below) but when I dropped the ski in yesterday I noticed water was pulsing out in between the motor and exhaust manifold. On this gasket, does it matter which way it goes on? Could I have it on backwards? Sorry if this is a dumb question but my bolts are tight and its still squirting water out.

Also, what do you guys do with the nipple on top of the stock head that had the small rubber hose connecting to the stock exhaust? That too was squirting water out.

Thanks for the help!

It does not matter which way the gasket goes on.

Did you torque or tighten all the manifold bolts down nice and evenly? I usually start in the middle and work outward like torquing a head down.

On the OEM little head nipple, just put a rubber cap with a zip tie to block it off.

I could of saved you some $$ on gaskets over a $13.50 exhaust manifold gasket, mine are $8.

Did you get all if your old gasket material off? I like to use the OEM exhaust manifold gaskets, they are nice and sticky.

I used a razor blade to scrape it off and feel as if I did a good job. I guess I can take a second look at it. Where would you buy the OEM gasket? Should I do that or stick with the one I have?

I would consider pulling the head and looking for water inside the engine. If it was leaking out it was probably leaking in as well.

Is your head water outlet not hooked up to your B-Pipe? I am not sure I understand where it is squirting at the head...

Take a pic.

Get some high temp gasket maker. I always use it on both sides of the gasket. Might be over kill but I dont ever have leaks.

Here's how I have my lines. Top of the pipe T-ed to the pisser and stinger. Bottom of the head pipe to the head and from the pump T-ed to dual cooling on the bottom of the manifold.

Did you shorten the top two center bolts on the manifold? Mine always seem to need to be a bit shorter than stock...
I did not. That might be another issue. Those were giving me lots of trouble on getting them tight. I ended up tightening them enough so the manifold could still slide up and into position. That way I didn't have to tighten much because they were such a pain to tighten with the manifold in place. I might try shortening them and see how that works

It's possible that they are hitting the manifold and not allowing it to sit flush against the cylinder. Get a couple slightly shorter ones and a cheapo wrench that you can grind down to slide in there better.

The trouble was getting a wrench on the top center bolts. I will try grinding one down and getting in there. I also picked up some stainless Allen head bolts to try as well. I think I would have enough room to get an Allen wrench in there too or cut it down if needed

Yes I rejetted the carb. 145 H, 120 L, 95 gram spring. I bought the kit from JetManiac. Ski seems to run good, it just has a leak. Guess I won't really know until I get it fixed and can really ride it

After years of getting hot/cold and with the bolts pulling on it the manifold/head etc will start to warp. When you take the manifold off hit it with some spray paint go over it with a large flat file or with sand paper on a piece of glass. This will help level it.
