B pipe screw holes

I am working on getting some seized screws out of a b pipe headpipe, and on mine there are 2 holes that go into the headpipe on the top.

Is there only supposed to be one pilot hole?

Is it supposed to be that if all the screws are closed, ZERO water goes into the pipe?

There are normally 3 adjustment screws (valves) on a B-Pipe. Top, middle, and bottom. 10-32 thread. If all the screws are closed, there should be no water entering the exhaust stream for tuning.

Sounds like someone drilled another hole in the top for you. Factory pipe uses a jig to hold the headpipe when they drill those holes. When you take out the screw, the hole below that is smaller, and un-threaded. That's how the screw acts as a valve.

When riding in salt water it's best to remove them on occasion, clean out the hole & run a tap down the threads to clean out the corrosion. Use anti-seize on the threads and re-adjust. The instructions don't mention this.

We only adjust the top screw (for low end). The other 2 screws are a pain to get to.
