B-pipe set up...

So... I just picked up a B-pipe for my X2. I'm not sure what I'm doing... All I know is that my westcoast pipe is restricting airflow... as well as holding water... both of which are killing my bottom end.

This B-pipe has a different chamber. I think it will fit in the hull... I'm not sure. I know that it will not clearence the gas tank. The pipe basically wraps infront of the engine, and an exhaust hose runs down the front of the engine to the waterbox.

I have a couple questions...

Is this chamber better (preformance wise) than the chamber that most of the X2's are running? (I don't know which one is called "limited" and which is called "mod")

Can I use this chamber in the X2? I was thinking I might be able to clearance it by cutting out some foam in the hood and putting in a superjet fuel tank.

Input welcome.

Ps. Picture sucks, but pipe looks clean. Set screws are seized.

So what's better? Superjet limited, superjet mod or SX limited? Hrrrm.

I know Tom can fix the screws. Tom can fix anything. Maybe he has an extra superjet and I can try laying this out tomorrow.

There was a guy on here once who had one in a 650 SX. All he had to do was make a custom bracket for the pipe mounts and have some tubing bent up so that the pipe/hoses to the waterbox would all line up.

If the exhaust manifold three bolt pattern is turned more than a stock 650/750 exhaust manifold then it is for sure the 750 SX/SXi limited pipe. FPP had to turn that bolt pattern so the pipe would fit in the 750 hull. Top make it fit in an X2 you may need to use a stock 650 style exhaust manifold. You may also need a 440/550 gas tank too.

I hope you try to mock it up and use it. I have always been curious as to how well that pipe fits and preforms. I definetly think it is a better pipe than a West Coast pipe. look at how much bigger it is compared to a WC. Also you have the tuneabililty of the screws.

As for the screws, I have read where people have had luck heating the head pipe up in an oven and then removing them. Just don't force them, you don't want to strip them out. But I am sure Tom can hook it up!

If anything atleast you now have the head pipe. You can always get a Blaster limited chamber or an SJ "B" pipe chamber.

So get working and let us know how it fits!

I also hope you're able to get it to fit as I have been eyeing that chamber also. I really think it can be made to fit which would be awesome as the chamber size seems to be on par with the blaster limited chamber size which can only be good for bottom end.

I almost think as high as it sits you may not need to worry about the tank so much as hood clearance. maybe it will just fit and have no issues?

I'd say the Superjet limited or superjet mod chamber... Do you have a limited set up or mod motor (any porting done??? if so, ....to what extent?)

I bought a chamber like that off sflsurfrider, and I think he was gonna put it in an X2. Not sure what stopped him. PM him, and see what problems he had.

I have a FPP 650 Kawie chamber and I have a chamber similiar to the one Vumad has but... the exit is at the stinger instead of being a center bleed type like the one Vumad has.

If you look around, WAX had a friend with a yellow X2 which had a 750 engine in it and the stinger exit pipe I was talking about. It really wasn't all that high.

This pipe isn't going to go on my ski right away. My ski is finally tuned and running great. I've been building my ski for a few months now and I'm going to enjoy it a bit before I start modifying it more. This is more of a "what if" thread.

I have the mounting bracket for the pipe. The TOP of the chamber will be about 3 inches above the head and will sit about flush with the head. The bottom of the chamber will sit just slightly lower than the head. The bleed will run directly infront of the head. I know this because of how the mounting bracket lines up. I do not know how the manifold and the head pipe will clear the side of the ski. I also do not know how the chamber will clear the hood. I do know that the current configuration of the fuel tank is the biggest problem. Even if the chamber clears the tank, the bleed hose will not.

I intend to try to get this set up to work. This is the pipe that was actually made for the 750. My engine block and electronics are stock 750. It has no mods or porting of any kind. The only change is I removed the stock dual 40 kehien carbs and put on a single 44mm mikuni. I'd like to put the dual 40's back on, or find a single 46 Mikuni, so I can sell my SX running.

Here's my primary thought... I am wondering if I can have a custom fuel tank made that holds about 3 gallons of fuel (I don't fill my 4.5 tank up all the way anyway) and have it mounted beside the drive shaft on the carb side. The move the waterbox back to be flush with the engine. I believe this would make the nose super light. I'm not sure how I could get that fuel tank to work.

I think a 550 tank is the ticket for you. But I am unsure how well it fits in the hull. I have seen people fit them in there but when I tried my 550 tank in my old spare hull, I believe the battery tray hit it.

If I remember correctly it won't fit. Search over on the other site. There was a guy over in the UK trying to do it. The iimited pipe uses a special exhaust manifold with more indexing in order to mate with the chamber properly. Wont work in an X2 because the added indexing causes the head pipe to hit the outer edge of the hull. With a regular manifold the chamber doesn't mate flush with the head pipe. But look for that post on pwctoday as I'm drinking and I may be mixing things up.

Here's the deal...
The mod pipe fits fine pictured on the yellow ski.
The blue exhaust manifold is the one for the limited setup but has too much indexing and the head pipe hits the hull.
The stock manifold leaves a gap.
