Are there any other steering cables that will work on a B1? (Raider, B2, SJ, etc...) I'm wanting something a stronger than stock for the 1100 B1 I'm building.

stuntbikemike uses B2 ones in B1....you could pm him for how to make it fit...they are heavy duty of course...

i know he has used the b-2 cable in his. its alot more stout but i believe it requires a bit if modding..
you need the 1997 b2 cable. it is 2mm thicker. may need to get a bigger thru hull cable piece. the bigger problem is the steering cable holder under the hood. you might be able to make the stock bracket work with some dremel help. i use a piece from engine trix that is no longer made

Lee, my friend owns a machine shop. If I made say 24 of them do you think people would buy them?
i highly doubt it, most people are all talk. you will end up owning 23 of these forever 
besides most people don't need a b2 cable. you only need it when you build big hp motors.
a simple trick is to put a steel sleeve over the the rear of the cable, the cable bends on the outer housing when pushed to full extension in a high speed turn.

Go to home depot and get stainless rope cable clamps. I used this and a 1/4" thick piece of aluminum. Works great and is super HD with the B2 cable. No more broken cables or brackets.
I kept breaking B1 cables when I switched to extended steering nozzles.

More people wanted aluminum than stainless. It doesn't look like I can get them in aluminum. Stainless only. Still working on the minimums and length/pressure specs.

let me know when you get the kits for the hodd lift together. i need another double kit. the protec single is weak.

I was looking at a VXR Pro cable I had. It is just about the same but had more throw that the b1 cable. I want to amplify my nozzle trhow for surf riding.
I dont think changing the cable alone will get you more throw, you will also need to extend the arm at the bottom of the steering stem or modify the steering stops or possibly shorten the arm on the nozel.
The B2 cable also has more travel than the B1. Thats actually why the bracket is needed

If you need any help let me know. Its been about 10 years but I designed a gas strut system to open the hood on a piece of equipment where I used to work. I used Excel to model the opening and closing forces, it was pretty slick just enter hood weight, strut force and mounting dimensions and it would graph the forces, easy to play with and optimize the mounting points.
I would also like a dual strut kit, my single protec kit is warping the side of my hull.
