Blaster Backup/Friend/GF Ski?

My riding buddy and I currently each have our own skis and split the costs of a Riva stage 3 RXP for a backup/safety/friend/GF ski. We rarely ride it however and usually our GFs just kind of putt around at 40mph. It usually costs us about $50 in gas every time we take the ski out and nobody ever chips in to help with gas. My friend wants to sell it and put his share towards a motorcycle, which I do not think is that bad of an idea.

I would still like to have a ski for friends to ride but something that I would find fun too incase one of our skis break. It would need to be fairly easy to ride for a n00b. I'm thinking maybe a B1 or an SXR? Gotta be cheap too, $4000 or less since I would have to pay for it myself...

Either a B1 or a SN would be my guess. I'd go with the SN, so you'll actually enjoy it as well. Hard to get any easier to ride or any cheaper than a SN.

I found and fixed up a '93 SN for my girlfriend and inexperienced friend riders for about $700 total. It does exactly what it was intended to do.

Get a waveblaster2 or a gp boat. My fiancé loves her gp1200 and my buddy loves his wb2. They Are both large enough for any level of experience to ride but still fun for you. I enjoy racing Lisa's gp1200 against a the rxps and blaster at the lake when the stand up take a break. The gp is a great boat and super reliable. You could also look into a seadoo hx or a Yamaha gpr but both will be a little less reliable than the gp or wb2 although the handle better. Gp and wb2 are better for surf jumping than hx and gpr.

Wb1 is a good boat too but a learning curve. I've offered to buy Lisa anything she wants but she wont come off the gp1200. It's sporty yet it rips so she can enjoy it.

Oh, and tell your free riding friends this ain't the government. No hand outs. If they can't come up with $10/ea for gas the. Leave them behind they are using and abusing you.

Oh, btw, Lisa rocks my superjet and does amazing on a sxr for a person who rarely rides, just making the point that her love for her gp1200 is not about her inability to ride something smaller. The decision to get the gp1200 was mine because its that good of a boat. The decision to keep it however has been all her.

My buddy that currently has the wb2 had a xp, the kind that has the shock seat, he claims it was he favorite ride, but it was a hassle compared to the wb2

I was going to also say Sea Doo SP, XP '94-96. Plus they are fun to ride in the surf as well. My GF's ski is a '94 SP and it is perfect. It is cheap and easy to work on plus it's not extremely fast or powerful which is perfect for a buddy ski. The good thing is it has been 100% reliable.

They are an blast to ride, never had any reliability issues and IMO alot more fun then waveraiders
