When it does it, open the gas cap and see if it sucks air in. The tank check/relief valve could be clogged and not allowing air in as you use up the gas which will make it hard to pull gas.
In my case it turned out to be a faulty ignition coil. The longer the motor ran the weaker the spark got. I suppose the coil was warming up the longer the motor ran. That's when the fault showed.
This particular coil was less than 12 months old. I had previously changed it over while chasing a different problem.
If you have a spark gap tester you may want to compare how angry the spark appears before and after a ride.
On my ski the spark will easily jump an 8mm gap when everything is good.
