If it is in fact the battery and not a bad wiring job you should post that on the makers and all of the resellers facebook pages..

I had a battery that got so hot the terminals started smoking.
Wasnt the ski wiring because my old faithful oreillys battery works great.

X2 on the fuel lines. At first I thought "maybe something arc'd across the terminals..." But looking at what's there... Appears to be the battery.

Mine started smoking in my sxr 1100 triple and freaked me out. I rushed and disconnected it right before it caught fire. I'm starting to think these batteries are junk. Also had one for three months that failed on me.

I'll just leave this here

These are my flying buddies. And what we do with old batts that no longer perform.

Lipo batteries can be awesome, but they are NOT care free.

Don't over charge
Don't over discharge
Don't charge over charge rating (1c rating is safe)
Use proper type of charger

I'm thinking that even a charging system on the ski will cause a fire.

Besides that, they have been the greatest invention for all my RC stuff

For those interested in using them. Get a lipo safe bag from hobby king or other hobby store. Should stop any flames or damage happening in a ski. All my lipos are stored or charged in one for safety

How many of you guys use on total loss vs. a charging system? That could be a very valid point. But the manufacturer should be assuming that all use charging since thats what comes stock.

Alot of people were going through the shorai batteries as well. they didnt catch fire but i dont think the technology is there for the water yet.

Water and vibration have been the killers of these batteries...not ready for prime time.
Add to the problem they require "special" care (as posted above).

Sorry but I refuse to put a battery in my ski that has a tendency to blow up when dropped, jostled, hit with a hammer, you get the idea. I've had 2 LiPo's go full retard on me while flying my video rig, not fun....
