I was thinking the same thing. I have some extra 1" underpad I was going to try and make a custom pad out of. Just haven't got around to it yet.

Haha i was thinking a yoga mat cut out 
its a bit bigger and still sigt enough to make a pad. But i was Hoping some one had "the idea"

Can you run a taper bar pad?

Attached the pro taper bar bad that came with my bars today. Had to cut it to fit the 701 steering. Couldn't use the pad cover but it looks ok I guess. Just secured it with zip ties.
