Freestyle Barrel Rolls. Go left or go right?

From what I can tell, I have seen more riders throwing their body left when doing/attempting barrel rolls. Is there any science behind this? Does it have to do with getting water in the engine or anything? Or is it just rider preference? Thanks for the help

you dont get to choose which side you roll on. only the gifted and pros can roll which ever way they want. most go left cause thats the only way they can do them. i think i'm luckier to go right. when i land short, i land on the exhaust side. if you roll left and land short, water can squirt in by the hood seal and flood the motor. and when you roll right, its the same way you are supposed to roll your boat back over from the upside down position, so you dont get water in the carbs.

Going right would feel more comfortable to me. I was worried because i see the majority going left which isn't as natural or comfortable as going right is. Either way Ill just have to try going both ways and see what fits best. I just didn't know if one caused and mechanical issues or has the potential to screw things up

Which ever way you start out doing nose stabs usually ends up the way you will roll. I ride goofy foot(except in footholds obviously) and stab and roll to the right. Whatever works for you!

Nope. It's whichever way you are comfortable. I roll left but ride goofy foot(right forward). Other people roll right and ride goofy.

Just huck it and stop worrying about which way to go. You'll figure it out lol.

others like me roll with both feet in the holds (surf roll). Rolling to the left for me. Like Superjet said which ever way you nose stab.

I ride goody surf stance. And roll left. I can do stabs either way tho but they come out much better to the left. It's all preference. It's how it goes with all these kinda of hobbies/sports.
