Batteries and Warranties: How Come Batteries Die On Warranty Expiration Dates

This question is more applicable to Car Batteries. Jetski Batteries live in a much more hostile environment.

So, I've had Car Batteries with 5 year, 4 year and 2 year warranties and they have all died exactly on the Month and Year of the Warranty Expiration. Truly Amazing!

Are the Battery Manufacturers and Battery Engineers just that damn good at calculating the decay rate down to the Month or are the Manufacturers installing a Timer Chip or Kill Fuse to break the internal Circuit?

Calling on the Electrical and Battery Wizards: OCD? Shockwave538? Any Nikola Teslas out there know the answer?

P.S. I have some knowledge of Corrosion Basics and have installed Cathodic Protection Systems, both Sacrificial Anode and Impressed Current types. And find, that in real life, it is very hard to predict actual corrosion rates and service life with that kind of precision. So what's the deal with these Battery Warranties?
