Super Jet Beau's RN (rocker kit)

Im rebuilding a 97 RN hull that one of my riding buddies bought. Its in pretty rough shape, has a lot of patches from the many previous owner and was also in a car accident recently, so i am putting a rocker kit on to fix the broken nose. Beau also plans on putting a GP800 engine in this ski.

Solid resin on the bottom of the ski, easily removed with puddle knife and a hammer.


Rocker kit didnt come with any templates or instructions, so i just started cutting away, this is what i end up with.


More damage found after removing the solid coat of resin.


From the inside

Removing old patches, they didn't even remove the spray paint before glassing....the paint underneath the glass made for easy removal of the fiberglass.

Cleaned/prepped inside for glass.


Mixed up some west system epoxy with chopped up fiberglass fibers to make a strong glue.


Glued/riveted rocker kit on.


Removed rivets once the epoxy dried

Taped inside for foam backing.


Covered gap with foam and sanded to shape.


Glassed top of nose together.

Bottom inside of the nose glassed together.

We don't know. Came with the ski. It was paper thin and was not symmetrical, but nothing a little bit of fiberglass and sanding cant fix.

Ya, Boe was thinking about keeping it, but i told him it had to go. I have rode two skis with front exhaust and it sucked.

Found some more damage, cracked all the way threw the fiberglass on the outer side of the gunwhale.

I didnt know Boe bought the ski from you. We should have it done by this summer. You may remember me, i jumped your wake board boat wave like 100+ times at Texoma on my 98 SJ.
