Bed rack

So I purchase a bed rack off a friend of mine it's set up for two standups has a winch and everything the rack sits level with my bed sides. The rack is messing a ramp.

I have a silvarado 1500 2wd so it's not to tall.

My questions are.

1) about how long should I make the ramp with out it being too short..? I was thinking about 8ft ram should be perfect opinions from experience anyone.
I'm using tubing for the ramp also

2) I was planning on using 8 wheels 4 on each side to use as rollers for the
ski to slide on opinions and ideas on where to buy cheap rollers?

Riding buddy of ours built a rack in place of his sled platform with razor scooter wheels. I've seen those and roller blade wheels on ebay for pretty reasonable. Had my shins taken out once when he pulled the pin out of the bow eye while the rack was downhill in the boat launch. They worked great...lesson learned quickly.
