Hey guys, i was wondering what you have used for air intake setups that worked well with a chopped hood.

I was thinking of running a hose (4") from the rear of the cowl area down the hood and have it dump up near the front of the engine....so water will stay away from my F/A....if you have pics, please post them

here is how I chopped the hood....i havent cut any holes in the cowl area

here's a few ideas

That's all yours is---an "idea."

You haven't had it in the water enough to know if it actually works.:cool2:

Didn't someone in Daytona say it wasn't letting enough air in???

BTW---did you get your transmission in your Ford fixed? :dunno:

That was exactly what I was thinking....im gonna see what will work easier..

I really like the idea of the air intake above the seat. Im gonna try and find some tubing that will work like xxx2's...plus i wont have to fiberglass anymore..ugg

xxx2 have you used that setup? seems to me it would work great! What tubing did you use that holds shape?

It works. I *think* Pete used a similar set-up, but then changed it for some reason. Maybe he'll chime in here.

I helped xxx2 with his build, but I'm no expert.

Reply hazy, try again.
It gets more than enough air! Pete said it worked great for nose stabs and fountains, and seemed to work fine for the little time I rode it. I haven't got to really try it out tho. tubing is engine rigging hose.

ps. royal. I was informed that my transmission is good but, now my computer is culprit.

I beefed the hell out out of my hood (and hull) so my hood is sealed off completly, This seemed like a easier way than a hood intake. The end of it is up in the nose (Between tank and water box). It also has dual 500gph's and dual scupper's......Hopefully it will stay Dry! I don't have much seat time on it Thou:aargh4:

Gonna let me fly it if I make it to Daytona next year?
