Super Jet best water/fuel line to use?

Im starting to get a shopping list together for my new hull.

What type of fuel line do you guys recommend. My motor guy swears buy the oem fuel line. But I don't have any... input?

As for water line i've been using the cheap lowes line I don't like it. I've heard to use air hose line hears good things about it. What do you guys reccomend? I know its basic stuff but im tired of this cheap stuff.

Thanks a bunch,
Al

So where is the best places to buy the oem fuel line on a spool

It isn't available on a spool. You have to order by the piece from yamaha, it is pricey and a pain, but it is the best. We have limited quatities of used oem line at times.

OEM fuel line is really good stuff. One complaint I have with it though is you can't see what's going on. So when you have a random problem, you can't rule out a fuel problem just by looking. The downside to the clear fuel lines is they typically only last a year before they get really hard and need to be replaced. I'm currently running OEM line but am seriously considering going back to clear.

As for water lines... Yes use air hose but don't use the pvc air hose as it suffers from the same problem as the clear fuel lines in that it gets super hard after a year. Instead use the black rubber air hose. It costs a little more but if you have a harbor freight tool store near you, it's not that expensive.

Bottom line, if you want the fancy colors on your water/fuel lines to dress up your engine bay, you'll be fine running them but don't expect them to last more than a season or two. Then again, is $20-$30 in water/fuel lines every year going to break the bank?

I did it last year and yes everyone told me that stuff would not last, but I do like the idea of seeing what is going on. I saw a little while back that someone is now offering a colored fuel line that is supposed to be superior.

I have had no issues with the fuleline.biz stuff.....yes it hardens a little but it does not effect it....It just takes the shape of how you place it and stays put....

I double ziptie all connections and replace it every 3 years.

If you look at the long OE pieces on boats.net some of it is cheap and since most of us don't need as much as a OE superjet you could just make one long piece go quite I ways I would think.

Cold Fusion has fuel line that just came out also.

OEM water line lasts forever also.

although our fuel line isnt the brightest of colors, it is true fuel line and should remain flexible for a long time
We our currently testing our water lines remember it must have the ability to withstand steam without melting or collapsing some of the "home depot" types are only good to 160 deg

The best water line would be 2-ply silicone hose which is very expensive or Pliovic air hose which is a bit cheaper, also the stock line is very good IMO.
