Big bore single freestyle carb mods

I have a single silver mikuni 46mm that I want to turn into a freestyle big bore carb.

What have you all ran and liked?
Who do reccomend?
How big can I take a single 46mm? 50mm?
Should I run a external fuel pump with a big ass single.

I have Dual(non OEM) Pro-tec 38s, OEM Yam dual 44mms and this single. I'm gonna do some testing with all these.
But I want a single setup for my square. SO this will go in there unless i like it better than OEM dual 44's or the Pro-tec taperbored dual 38's.

I'd like to know also. I've got a WF big bore motor on an x case with a single 46 or 48 buckshot carb on it. I think I could do better with a diff carb. I've heard that I should send a stocker to WF for his 48mm mod.

hey Tim.....is it possible some of the problems youvbe been having with that motor due to the fact its on X cases?????

I don't think so. I didn't buy my motor directly from steve but I've heard he's proud of the output of his BB on x cases as a cheaper alternative.

my latest problem was an assembly error on my part.
 
I take it the carb is going on t cases?
Might wanna give keith head a call. He does a nice carb mod. I dont know what steve does. Is it just a 48 truebore? or is it a taperbore down to 48?

I ran a Novi 48 and liked it, very clean and powerful. I picked it up new but with a broken fuel nipple for $200, replaced the nipple and it was good as new.

can you have a taperbore without a flame arestor adapter on it? I want to be able to bolt on and stock flame arrestor. that is one of my problems with my buckshot.

i've got a vortex arrestor on my carb. I just had to hog it out about 10mm.

I run a big bore engine I have try many carbs dual end single. I can tell you one thing Queenford atp freestyle single carb is 48mm and it run very good on my engine. Just tune it right and it will be enough for most freestyle engine.
If you run full speed over 10sec. you need a fuel pump on a single setup.

steves 44 to 48 mod allows you to use the stock arrestor. its a very clean setup and hits real strong from bottom to mid.
