Blaster 1100 swap done BUT not running right...help!

Got my blaster 1100 swap completed the other day (97' kawi 1100). I am running the motor completely stock with the pipe dried out and the R&D timing plate. Otherwise totally stock, ran the donor ski a month or two ago and it ran solid. Unfortuneately its not running right yet...ski is very hard to start, extremely boggy / sluggish off the bottom, and backfires pretty bad. If I get it running and very slowly ease into the throttle I can get it to clear up and it sounds mean but its difficult to get it to do it. I took it to the lake today and tried running it on the trailer...it doesnt want to start in the water and if I start it out and back into the water it bogs out and eventually dies...one time I was able to keep it running but I couldnt give it more than about 1/8 throttle and it sounded kinda like it was running on 2 cylinders.

I checked spark on both cylinders, and it looks good. I removed the R&D timing plate with no change. I checked compression, I have about 105-110 with a cheap gauge that typically runs a little low. Its pulling fuel and doesnt change when I start it with fuel poured directly into the carbs, or with or without the choke applied. I also tried a second set of carbs off our other donor boat and nothing changed. Tried the fuel selector on and reserve with no change. The return line has the original kawi restrictor in the line going back to the tank.

All electrical connections from the ebox are plugged in, I am using the stock kawi S/S switch & wiring harness. I originally had no power until I realized I forgot about the little orange key on the kawi skis...we found the plug in a wiring diagram and figured out the correct wires to jump and immediately had power so I am assuming the ski thinks the key is on at all times which is fine.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am leaving for a 3/4 day river trip and bringing it with a few other skis and dieing to get it running and on the water! I am trying to figure out if I left some other sensor unplugged or something (water & air temp sensors are both plugged in).

Are your boots on the correct plugs? I had this issue ie. backfire and switching the front to back plug worked. I moved my ebox to front so cable orientation was switched

That was the issue...figured it out from google searching after I posted...sounds so mean now! Should be on the water later tonight or in the morning!

Thanks for the post!
