Blaster 1200 build

Just picked up a GP1200 with only 90hours, to drop the motor into what was my perfectly fine 96 blaster. My blaster 144 pump would need a rebuild so I'm looking at adding the 155pump from the gp1200 into the blaster. I've looked up some forums but I'm confused, would I just need the 155 waterdawgs pump shoe and the gp driveshaft? Is it worth the work, or should I just get a new sbt wear ring and prop for the 144? The trim on the 155 is tempting...

Plan is to have a strong reliable ski on a budget, deciding between glassing in the mounts to fit the new motor or just spending the money for the Ada plates.

Group of guys i know in the UK have just done the B1 1200 coversion. Speak to @Superjetjim...He's a top bloke and will be glad to give any advice.
http://www.pwcforums.co.uk/carbon-blaster-winter-build_topic55927.html Here's his build thread. The bit you want is at the rear pages. Have a look through the forum as there's tons of other build threads on the go at the moment. Everyone seems to be at them in the UK at the moment.
Hope that helps and good luck.

I think I'll stay with my current pump, and just get a new sbt ring setup and 15/22 prop?

Also, a friend of mine works a lot with fiberglass, If I wanted to just glass the mounts, do I just set the motor in there and mark where the front holes are and just guesstimate it?

Xjcrawler is correct on the pump, don't need a 155, just more work. The 144 Solas and Skat prop is the win.

PM an email and I'll send you a complete build doc on the conversion with pictures, links to the parts, step by step how to's, order of works etc. Will save you a TON of time / trouble ;)

PS - that prop is to shallow you need a 16/23 Skat at least.

Made some progress last night. Spent 8ish hours completely stripping the gp and got the motor dropped into the blaster. Used a 4 inch hole saw and cut my exhaust holes. Next step is aligning the motor and get the waterbox set up. Do I need to get the 1200 waterbox shortened?

Defoaming was a pain just like everyone has said. Used the aggressive hole saw bit thing pictured that I found in the garage and used it to just grind up all of the foam. Worked great.

I just finished the same swap this fall... Yes, you'll need to make the 1200 waterbox shorter/smaller or use a 1100 raider box. And I still need to re-jet. It ran like poop the first time out with stock jetting and aftermarket flame arrestors.

And... the foam is evil... so glad that job is long over!

Let me know what jetting you end up with!

Got a package from rad dudes today. Ordered a steering cable bracket and rear exit and block off. All of them look great. 1200 steering cable dropped right in. Also finally installed the prop and new wear ring. Just awaiting a package from blowsion with a new seat, foot straps, anodized red throttle, odi white and red grips. Besides that just need to get the water box shortened and drop in a battery!

What wear ring did you get? I was thinking about getting one of the sbt with the replaceable liner over the OEM stainless one.

I ended up with a used oem ring I got for $70 on here. It has great fitment/clearance but I wish I would've gone for the SBT just based off the fact its got an replaceable core. A $30 repair with a new ring sleeve in the SBT vs another oem at much more.
