Seen a few folks methods and none were really what I was wanting to do to fit my needs and riding style.
I held off cutting up mine for a short bit wanting to pick up a 2nd seat to keep one stockish and butcher the other. Searching around proved that seats aren't readily available and when they are the asking price is too much. After re-thinking it I came to the conclusion the stock seat freakin blows and I'd never go back and resale is a second thought, so let it begin....
Priorities were getting the seat and short as low as possible, but still maintaining stockish looks.
Cutting out the stock raise seat pan
Glassed seat pan flat and put rear (orig middle mount) back in
When I put the mount back in I trimmed it so the back off the seat was lower. This required the base to be trimmed also. No more poser moto style
Glassing done, mocking for length trimming
Final stage after padding and recovering. Padding is just underpad, two layers of 3/4" on seat bottom with 1/4" blending and covering everything. One piece marine vinyl was a bitch to stretch, will be fixing it in a couple spots after I decide all is good.
