You have the Hull. Glued to the hull is a left and right plate each with 2 mounts that the motor plate bolts to… Any idea what these SMC(is it SMC?) plates are called?

Anyhow, my Left plate (toward the front center of the hull) has stated to come unglued. It seems like the only way to properly fix this is to completely remove the plate to thuroly clean under it and then re glue it…. Anyone ever experience this? I believe it happened because of the ski when on the trailer bunks seems to have most of it weight right under the motor and it flexes the hull. I am in the process of making a bunk system that more evenly spreads the weight on the hull, for example, a support under the nose of the hull.

But I need to now pull the motor and fix this glued on SMC(?) plate.

cannot vouch for home depot stuff
but you can probably get by with the "dual syringe" epoxies sold
I use the USComposites resin, but most any 2 part epoxy resin (not polyester or vinylester resin) will work

call wammer and get the correct glue. if your going to try and fix it. my advise is dont fix it untell you absolutly have to . i had one rip out completley i repair it but the hull was never the same. it porpoised like crazy. toss the hull in the garbage.

that sucks! I surely dont want to toss the hull.... seeing the previous owner just put a $1000 paint job on it! ;-(

You can use Plexus products, powerfactor now sells them. They're similar products quality as the factory uses to glue the hulls together.

had it happen on a few fx-1. no big deal, but I would heat it up and pull the whole thing and clean and reattach. dont use products from home depot to fix it either. make sure to trace the part where the glue is not squished out so you can replace it exactly and dont forget to align the motor when you go back together.

good tips tom! thanks!
3rid, does Power factor have a site?

I believe this came un-glued because the trailer bunks.
I totally redid the bunks but I believe the hull was flexing
causing the plate glue to give.

so now with 4" pvc bunks and a hefty keel support, the weight is now evenly spread.

West Marine Epoxy system works with SMC ( 105 epoxy and 205 hardener) and use the 404 filler ( micro balloon) to get it thick as you need it.
Grind down the beads of the old adhesive but leave several areas intact (maybe knock it down just a tad bit) in various places to act as shims so you get it close to the right height as before or just put the new epoxy where the old crap is not - you don't have to worry about tracing where the old adhesive went just make sure you put enough down to where you need good pressure to seat it.
Spooge your new epoxy in and weigh the plate down down with bags of lead shot or sandbags.
I had a plate pull up on my Wammer hull ( .5" slab of aluminum epoxied to hull) and used this stuff instead of the SMC glue he uses - still holding after many inverted grenade landings
