How hard is the transition from a blaster to a superjet? I have riden a standup years ago before the blaster. I can't remember how easy difficult.

I have seen the word tubbies. I figure they go on the sides in the front of the ski. Are they for turning like sponsons or for stability?

1st, tubbies is a name brand from blowsion for front sponsons. It's like referring to bleach as lysol or calling generic acetaminophen as tylenol.

They reduce the roll on the boat. Think what ailerons do. You can get your weight further over the side of the ski without it falling over. They make the ski more stable due to a wider foot print and easier to ride. Some freeriders do not like them as they slow down the transition from rail to rail. If you are racing, they are a significant advantage. Start without them and add them next year after you have a lot of tray time if you feel the ski is holding you back.

B1 is much easier to ride than a superjet. Its really about commitment. If you are dedicated to ride a stand up, then you will. If you get on it and say its too hard and you'd rather be on a B1, then maybe deep down you're a coucher.

LOL, oh I am definately not a coucher. My buddy has a couch and even though it does 70, i am bored after two minutes. Thanks for the info though. I am looking for a used ski so if i come across one that has them, I want to know what they do. Motor wise, the superjet is close to the B1 in some ways. Some parts are interchangeable and some not. I am thinking maybe a 96 or later. My B1 is a 96 and it's in great shape. If I could find something like that. Or maybe I get rid of my honda trx 450r. Then, I have a little more cash.. Very funny. coucher.

I have both. There’s nothing more fun than watching standup guys try and board the B1. 1 of 3 might get off the line without falling off before getting on the throttle. Stand ups are defiantly more about weighting the ski correctly. You don’t just stand in the middle of it like you do on a blaster (relatively speaking).

There is one thing more fun than a stand up guy trying to board a Blaster, That is watching any newbie over 200 trying to board a blaster. LOL
