Blowsion Hood Hook issue

I went to put my WDK hood on my '07 RN a couple days ago, and It would not go forward far enough. I yanked it off and put the stock back on, and it did the same thing. I had just put on some blowsion hood hooks, and it seems that these things are the culprit. Has anyone else had this problem? I sat the blowsion hook next to the stocker, and marked a line where the stock hole lined up. The holes weren't close to being in the same place. Check it out. Has anyone else experienced this?

Glad to see your eyesight isn't deteriorating at your old age BK. :icon16:

It is a blowsion hood hook. Look at the pencil lines on the hook. That is where the holes need to be to work. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.

yeah, i had the same issue and had to open the blowsion slotted holes a little more in order to locate the hood hooks in the proper place.

btw, the XMW hood hooks i am running on my new ski are way better and did not require any adjusting.

I had some trouble with my xmetal hooks and WDK hood as well, it wouldn't go over the front glass/seal when pushing the hood down. Ended up shimming the front hood side hooks to allow the hood to come up a bit in front and clear the glass and seal.

Personally I run the older 24/7's When I had the JSS(Junk) hoodseal I had to shim my hood hooks up. You might want to look at sending them back, try the XMetal.

I bought these new off another board member.

Why would blowsion sell shiot that is that jacked up though? They specifically said for 96+ sj.

I dont think it is a blowsion thing or a WDK thing, Its just the way things are. Every ski, hood combo, latch, whatever,..all vary. You can't have something cnc machined to fit things that are all different. Just doesnt work that way. Very little is out of the box and go. Remember most of these ski are "custom" Sometimes you have to get creative. I machined my own set of hooks that work very well on the ski I measured from, my other ski not so good, They both have WDK hoods and same seal combo.... Turned out the rear hood latch holes were too high and it was pulling the hood away from the hook when clamped. You cant blame it on one company or the other. I think they try to make something that will work the best for most applications. JMO
