i think im going to email them the pics, they should atleast advise the use of an outer protective sleeve or to not use this bolt with a spring.

They have a pole bolt/bracket spacer but it doesn't fit inside of the spring. I would think any kinda of protective sleeve would also wear away faster and eventually

ive seen the spacer and its made specifically for use without the spring, but im sure you could make a spacer out of the right material that wouldnt wear orr atleast not nearly as fast, but after all that work i would just stick with the stock bolt.

Would anyone buy titanium bolts for $40 plus shipping? I found a place that will make custom bolts but they cost $30 and you have to order 100 of them o_0

I made a thin Ti outer sleve/spacer that slid over the rrp bolt. Dont do it. It siezed together and i had to soak it in penetrating oil for a couple days before i pressed it apart on the trusty harbor freight 10 ton press. Use a stainless pole bolt, i prefer the cold fusion one.

I have a titanium pole bolt that was used and abused and looks fine with no damage. It was used with a pole spring as well.

Its aluminum what do you expect, if anything rubs against it they will start wearing away fast, just go with stainless does alum. really save that much weight?

It really is pointless, my friend and I have just been shortening our stock SN bolts and rethreading them to work the same, much more durable.

To get the pole bolt around 2 breather tubes on the rrp pole with the rrp bracket on my rickter you have to use a rubber mallet to get through the spring and tubes because it is so tight so hitting alum. threads on anything on its way to the bracket will eat them. stainless is the only way to fly much more durable.

I made some pinch bolts and I run a tight pole on my Blowsion OVP setup. It doesn't pinch the tubes that way (and all the stuff in them). If anyone is interested in that i have the info somewhere on the bolts I used and then machined down.

Durable and Light never go in the same sentence.....

I thought Titanium was fairly soft?

Yes and no, depends on the grade (similar to aluminum or steel)
I've seen some that will flex like crazy (Titanium pry bars anyone?) but I think its faiirly hard and brittle in general.

Makes great drag blocks!
