Super Jet BOB Footholds....Who rates them?

So, A friend and i are thinking of ordering them from the ski clinic, i believe these will be the first in the UK. Who has already got them and can comment on how they perform? I'm not happy with my wrap arounds as my feet keep coming out, I mainly ride surf and like secure feet when commiting to tricks.

you have holds that wrap around the back of your feet and you come out? or you have straps that wrap over the top of your feet? if you have wrap around the back footholds and youre coming out, bob holds wont help you

I have the holds that wrap around the tops of my feet. No matter how much i pack them out my feet still don't feel secure or i kick the side of the hold when kicking in OUCH!!!. I like the RRP holds on my friends FR-2 however not keen on the RRP holds for the superjet as they take up to much room in the tray.

If you check torque on the adjustable hold bolts every couple of rides, you won't have issues with them coming out. My holds came loose maybe once this year, while we were in Havasu, but I was riding for hours each day and didn't bother to check them once.

The reason we went with the adjustable format is every likes foot holds different. We'd spend weeks adding/ removing turf to get the standard footholds how we wanted, and they still weren't perfect. With adjustables, you easily lower or raise them to where you want, torque the bolts and they don't move. You only mess with them the first couple of rides, but once you get them where you want, they're dialed, and your tray does look like an avalanche of turf.

For the amount of work you still have to do once you buy Ski Clinic's holds your better off just making them from scratch. super easy, see build thread in sig

With all due respect to the Ski Clinic guys, the guys I ride with have also had issues with the holds coming loose, and water leakage through the slots. The latter could definitely be a issue with installation so i'm not faulting the mfg. I think its a good idea but could use some refinement.

The RRP holds only have individual holes in the hull. and the sliding happens on the hold frame. They do take up a lot of tray space stock. But you can modify them. It sucks modifying $400ish holds, but you "can" if you want to save tray space.

I modified a older set of RRP holds, just the wing/part that goes over your feet. I didn't get any buckets or any of the adjustment hardware. I bonded a 1/4" aluminum plate in each gunwale, and pinch bolted them that way. I'm supposed to update my build thread to discuss this, but haven't.
