How long has this been up on the website? Seems like it just snuck on there, didn't know they were working on a GEN3

Gen3 will not be at Havasu. We've got a few things in the works right now, and the Gen3 is next. I just added that on the site last week or so. Just a little sneak peak for you guys ;)

Patience, it's coming along. Just like the Gen2, we plan on testing the plug over winter so we can make changes over time to get it to perform as we want.

Keep in mind, the Gen3 will be more of a competition hull, not intended as a rec. freestyle ski. It will be wider, maybe shorter, the production units will be very light, and the 'Budget' term may not stick with this hull, as the Gen3 production hulls will most likely be 100% carbon fiber made, visual carbon fiber hull, competition light and show room quality. Since I'll be competiting in Pro Freestyle next year, we want to develop a new hull that can do huge aerial combos like the Pro hulls you saw at Havasu.

Because the Gen3 will cost more, and is going to be designed for competition use, we still plan on offering the Gen2 hull in 2012! It's a great hull, I love the design and how it handles, and it's a great hull for anyone who wants to get into a aftermarket freestyle hull 'on a budget'.

I could post pictures of the Gen3 plug, but we've only been making changes to the bottom deck to change handling, the top deck will be redesigned after we're happy with the bottom deck. We'll be testing the plug this weekend, make some changes, and repeat. Stay tuned for updates ;)

People have also been asking about a surf hull and a race hull... We plan on making them, but after the Gen3 is finished! I can't give too many details about it, but they are on hold until Gen3 has been released.

its enough for now.....loll....what do you mean by "the 'Budget' term may not stick with this hull". Not a 10000$ hull. You cant sell BOB at that price...loll...if yes you will have to find another name that BOB for it ....hahahaha

"Not recommended for recreational use." :squint: Not something I want to see..... Oh well, it's still going to be a awesome hull anyway.

We'll still be offering the Gen2 while the Gen3 is out. Both hulls will be for sale. The Gen3 was designed for Pro Freestyle competition. As you can imagine, very short, very wide, and very light weight. The hulls will also be only available in Visual Carbon (from what I last heard).
The Gen2 will be available at the same price, with all the same options to help anyone get into freestyle without breaking the bank ($4,000 Standard, $5,500 Carbon Fiber, ($6,000 Visual Carbon).

The Gen3, however, will be a top-of-the-line hull, with a MSRP not yet determined (definitely won't be near $8,000!) I've been part of the development, and I can definitely say that the Gen3 is a different ride. I can't give too many details as we're still working on the test hull/ plug, but lets just say I can't wait to get a lighter version with a bigger motor ;)

Overall, Gen2 recommended for anyone who wants to do backflips, get into competition, or just upgrade from a Stock Hull. Gen3 was designed for Pro Freestyle competition, after seeing what the sport is moving towards at World Finals.

Gen2 never saw any changes after production. My hull (Gen2 #1) and the latest one we just finished, are exactly the same as far as looks and design go.

Test rides are being offered year round. We've got quite a few running Gen2's from my brothers 760, my World Championship 865 and a few others. Just shoot me a PM and we'll schedule a demo day!

D, you need to somehow have an East coast test ride day.. ;)

this is the response i got when i asked the same thing

If you pay for my shipping and air fare..

In all seriousness, we won't be there. Went back in 2009, was a good event, but we don't do much freeriding, so doesn't make sense to go across country for a surf event. Besides, we got a Gen3 video to make that weekend ;)

I have to say that the B.O.B. websight is very well done. The choices are amazing and the details are great. Videos are great as well.
The fact that you can buy a carbon B.O.B. for $5500 is impresive. One think I didnt notice is the cost for the turfing?
I was curious so I did some apples to apples compairing from the glass XFS to the glass Gen 2. Lil D, correct me if I am wrong on any of this. This was meant to see what the Budget actually means for the buyer here. Keep in mind I figures this on the absolute best fit and finish hull out there. Comparing to most other hulls out there the BOB would creame them in cost once you figure the cost of receiving a ready to assemble hull.
B.O.B. GEN2
$4000 gel coat only
$1000 pemium paint
$200 Graphics a guess
$400 turfed again a guess
$250 pole bracket
I assume th hull comes with the scupper at $4000?
so $5850 plus shipping

The XFS comes with all the above and can be considered PREMIUM FINISH @ $6500 plus shipping. So the budjet FINISHED NICELY is $650, enough to buy a cast RRP pole nearly.

The other advantage to the BOB is that you can buy it without the PREMIUM FINISH and turf it yourself. so Minus graphics, paint and turf your looking @ $4250 plus cost of turf and such $200 so savong $2050 from the premium finished XFS which can buy for a nice pole, turn system, and some nice motor / pump upgrades.

But my favorite option on the BOB is the fact that you can upgrade to carbon for a mear $1500, so go from glass premium finish XFS to carbon premium finished BOB for only $850 more. That is a sick option.

Makes me want to ride the GEN2 and hope it rides as well as the XFS or even as nice as my carbon ROKs. If they do I will be in for a carbon version. Obviously there will be more questions LIKE. Is this epoxy resin and 100% carbon or is there a core, if so what type of core?

I am impressed with the forward movement in design. The footholds concern me as far as strength and comfort, while I like the adjustability of them, the shape and mechanics of them concern me a little. Things I hope to get a chance to see in the near future.

Does anyone know if there will be one avail to check out in Daytona? There will be a flatwater test ride show and tell going on Friday in Daytona. LIL D, you should find a way to get one there. It would to wonders for your sales in this area I am sure.
There will be Lenzies, Freaks of all types, My carbon ROK, I am sure a KONG or 2 and probably some sort of Malone product as well as some XFRs and XFSs. The GEN2 should make an appearance too IMO.
