Im very interested in building a BOB hull due to the fact I ride alot of flat water. I would like to here the good /bad sides of this hull and also what set up your running in it. 1st or 2nd gen. Im looking to build up a ski possibly this winter and really like this hull as a platform.

the turf and footholds don't hold my feet that good, they are slippery and slide back constantly with a blast of the throttle. they ride very light and a small motor feels very responsive in this hull. it likes to jump. it leans over on the turns. I think it needs an 08 steer cable but not sure, everything fits and aligns well when building it. the stickers fall off on first ride, it is "cheaper" than some other AM hulls, It looks pretty cool, has lots of room inside the hull, nice wide tray. These are a few of my thoughts upon seeing/riding a 2nd gen yesterday.

Jace Forest...BRAP!
I've got a gen2 with a ss865 in it. Footholds and turf are fine with me, no problems there. Everything did bolt up good and it was easy to build. All my decals have stayed on just fine but I did also go over all them pressing down. It's a pure ariel ski. Alot harder to do old school tricks on. I have beat mine up pretty good and it's holding up like a champ.

There's a reason why we make them adjustable... so you can tighten them down to your feet so you don't slide around. And I don't know what you're talking about the turf being slippery, never had that problem on any of my hulls.
And I believe that the Gen2 will not accept the '08 steering cables, only pre-08. As far as the stickers, its a issue I'm having with out composite guy, he likes to wax up the hulls big time right before he gives it to me for graphics.
For the price it is, its not going to be the greatest looking hull on the planet. Its a budget friendly hull, out guy builds the hull so that they're strong and withstand the backflops and beatings that our clients tend to give it. We aren't focused on making it look like the greatest thing ever, we're more focused on what counts, the strength.

Other than that, thanks for your honest opinion. :bigok:

We only offer the Gen2 as a new model, we no longer produce the Gen1 Hull. The Gen2 is a whole new ride from the Gen2, so if you're thinking about buying one, stay away from a Gen1, they're totally different hulls. All the little changes we did to it, changed everything about how it handles, rides and looks. We have quite a few hulls in Canada that I'm sure you'd be able to try out, or if you're coming to World Finals, we'll have quite a few ready-to-flip skis at the camp site that we'll be demoing just about everyday at the LightHouse at Crazy Horse.

Its a short hull, and is nothing like the super jet, so it'll take a while to get used to how it rides, but once you do, you'll love it. After riding mine for this season, my dad's Super Jet just feels like a race ski, my BOB is just so much lighter and easier to throw around then a super jet (but then again, not many super jets have the same motor set up that my BOB does.)

Those hulls are very slippery, haha, we had a tough time keeping it on the abs beach stand when messing around with the steer cable. I think that everyone that rode it yesterday had the same overall impression that it was very good, it rides beyond light feeling and it does turn sharp even without a quick steer plate. I found that it likes to roll on its side from time to time that is different from superjets. Not a bad thing, one just needs some tray time to cope with that. After a few turns i could already start using my left/right foot weight transfer skills to stay in control. It responds to body input very well as most light hulls should. The footholds are very different from what i am used. Ryan had the tools out to adjust and i lifted the one side up all the way to get my foot in deeper. i don't care about the stickers peeling, that was an observation of its maiden voyage. its the ones on the bottom deck that take alot of water force so its to be expected. As far as looks, It looks good enough for me, because skis are only new for a day. Saving money on the looks is fine with me too. I would agree to ride one before you buy but really i don't think you would be disappointed at all if you where to buy one and get it without being on one. If you love your superjet and want to be able to get out of the water on your own setup wake, this ski will do it with a 701 61x motor in it. The rest will be up to you.
