Like the title says, runs great dry out of the water, start it in the water and it's all fine untill the water enters the motor (motor sounds deeper and obviously water starts to come out of the pisser) that's when it bogs down and it's hard to keep it running for about 5 seconds than it takes off and she is fine. any ideas?

couple of years ego I blew the motor , so picked up a donor ski from a guy for a few bucks, it probably sat on the ground , outside for a few years. I rebuilt the carb, compression came good on both holes, blocked of the oil injection, .....
I was leaning towards the water in the head also....

Both my SX and SXI do this. Both still use Choke and is just a normal part of the Startup Routine, I am the Second owner on my SX and have had for 10 Yrs, and bought my SXI new and have had for 10 YRs.

yeah mine does that too, but for about 2 seconds. then it's good. not really bogging, but more of a short acceleration plateau. are you gunning it off the start? try to slowly increase throttle. I forget which thread but on pwctoday there is a post about it in the tuning section. i'll see if I can find it.
