bolt to pull 750sx flywheel

its a 18mm X 1.5 I have found you can use a spark plug thread chaser to remove the flywheel. It is like 4 bucks at almost any auto part store, usually has 18mm on one end and 14mm on the other end.

Good luck to you. Use penetrating oil on that flywheel if you haven't already. Heat helps too... I ended up destroying my stock flywheel trying to get it off but oh well.

I guess tomorrow I pull the fuel tank and try to get a socket on the chaser

Yeah don't believe everything you read here, some ideas are just bad,you have just experienced one of those bad ideas.

i didnt think the chaser was a good idea. when i did mine, i used a bolt, tightened down as much as i could and then used a hammer, on the bolt head, tighten down some more and hammered some more. i didnt use any heat but if it starts to go where you think its stripping the threads, then i would apply some heat and then hammer some more. you need to give it a good solid whack but be carefull coz it might just fly off.

I discovered the thread chaser a while back when I was trying to find a bolt that would work. I just heated the flywheel, then screwed that chaser in and popped it with a breaker bar and the flywheel fell right off. I actually ended up using it several times with no trouble at all. I really wish the 650 flywheels were like that, so I wouldn't need to use a damn puller every time I need to get the flywheel off my X2. Guess I should have just left 750 electronics in there if I wanted that though.

a buddy of mine pulled my 750 flywheel off...

he had a homeade tool that was a cut end of a 440 or 550 crank welded to a nut

jam it in with the impact and it popped right off...

i can ask him exactly what the tool was

That's basically the same thing as the thread chaser....only the metal isn't as strong. I stripped one of those bolts inside my flywheel.

maybe this would do it?

This puller works on all Kawasaki 750-800cc flywheels.

also upon closer examination
the interrupted threads on the thread chaser
did not play well with the
interrupted threads for the keyway on the flywheel
:soapbox:
