no complications at all...picked up a few myself from across the border...don't worry about it...he's just going to need a bill of sale and title of ski if you got it. Even if you don't have title its no big deal, they don;t ask for it. All the border cares about is that we pay our taxes bringing it back.

I haul boats into canada sometimes and all thay ask for is a copy of the title. Bill of sale wouldn't hurt too. The buyer has to arange the taxes i would guess.
