Bought a RTR 2019 Krash Foot Rocket. Need to go 701.

Bought a 2019 Foot Rocket that was originally a RTR ski with the KV997. When I picked it up it was in pieces from ingesting some water. I'm confident its all there. I just don't want to deal with it. What does it take for me to put a 701 in this thing. Looks like the bed plates a little different. Not sure if I can spin the coupler off the back of the motor and make it connect to the mid shaft thats already in the ski? I've always had superjets, and the rest of my skis are all Yamaha. I just want to go 701 and enjoy it for what it is. I'm never going to be the guy to try and flip, just want to ride around and jump some boat waves.

I've done a few this spring. Couplers are interchangeable. The KV midshaft will fit in the yamaha bearing housing and bolt right up too. Motor just needs some 1/4" plates bolted in and tapped where the SJ mounts go. SJ ebox mounts. Inserts for battery tray.

Can I just swap couplers then and use the mid shaft that’s already in the machine? Easier to pull coupler off midshaft or motor side? Did you just use a b pipe?

Yes, on one I left the kv midshaft assembly in. On the other I removed the shaft and pressed it into the yamaha housing and used yamaha couplers. If you have a midshaft holder tool it may be easier to swap that one. If not, you can put the rear piston at TDC, rotate crank 90 degrees towards carbs, then feed a rope down the sparkplug hole until you can't anymore. Use heat on the coupler and break it free with a 2x4 and a hammer.
Trying to upload some pics for ya but it's not working right now.

Used a b pipe on the first one along with the kv tank and battery tray. It was fairly easy. This one gets an RRP pipe and rad dudes tank which required 9 new inserts.

Keeping in mind this is a 2023 reaper, but I was tasked with making 701 bedplates. I wasn't able to reuse the Krash bedplates. I found that 1/2" aluminum with couch mounts put the motor at perfect height without shims. You can see where there isn't material for the 701 mounts on the krash plates.

I have a friend with a 2022 reaper I believe that came with the 1200kv setup. He recently swapped in a 760 with a tnt lay down pipe and just had to rotate the engine plates and maybe drill and tap a hole or 2 to get his to work. He said it was fairly easy.

Saw this ski on Facebook,13 minutes after it was posted. If I hadn't just built my ROK I'd have jumped on it. I'll be watching this closely!

Good for you, I could hop skis all day I just need to stick with one now and build it how I like. What part of Indiana are you from?
