BR8ES instead of BR8ES-11

Hello, i am changjng the plugs on my Yamaha gp1300r, and i still have 3 BR8ES laying around. Fsctory manual says they need BR8ES-11. Can i use the BR8ES instead of the BR8ES-11? Or will it hurt the motor?
Whats the difference anyway?

The last two numbers represent the gap set at the factory, in this case it would be 1.1 millimetres. I believe most stock plugs are gapped at around .7 to .8 millimetres from NGK (for motorcycle applications).

Reset the gap to what Yamaha recommends and you’ll be golden.

There’s a multitude of tools available to set spark plug gap...take your pick. The materials used in plug manufacture allow for gap alteration without damage - just don’t be a crazed animal when doing the deed.
